Description
The Timor Bracelet 10mm draws its inspiration from the monumental silver bracelets traditionally worn in West Timor, where Tetum men and women adorned themselves with powerful pieces that symbolised identity, protection and ceremonial significance.
This bracelet is characterised by its intricate braided silver wire structure, forming a compact 10mm wide band that balances solidity and elegance. The surface is enriched with traditional “S”-shaped spirals, a recurring motif in Indonesian jewellery representing continuity and life energy.
A key decorative element is the hand-applied granulation technique: tiny silver spheres of varying sizes are individually soldered onto the surface, creating texture, depth and rhythm. This meticulous process requires exceptional precision and reflects ancient metalworking traditions that have been preserved for generations across the Indonesian islands.
The bracelet is crafted in solid 925 sterling silver, ensuring durability and a rich, luminous finish. It is secured with a traditional box clasp closure, designed to integrate seamlessly into the overall aesthetic while providing comfort and reliability for daily wear.
Historically, bracelets of this nature were not merely ornamental. In Timorese culture, they were worn during important ceremonies and celebrations, sometimes even functioning as sound-producing elements during ritual gatherings — embodying both artistic and symbolic value.
