Description
The Zinder Tuareg Cross is handcrafted from solid 999 silver by skilled Tuareg artisans, using traditional techniques passed down through generations. Starting from a solid silver ingot, the pendant is carefully hammered, filed, and shaped by hand before every engraved motif is meticulously carved using simple handcrafted tools. The result is a piece that reflects the remarkable precision and artistry of traditional Tuareg silversmithing.
Inspired by the traditional Zinder Cross, one of the classic Tuareg cross designs originating from Niger, this pendant is distinguished by its balanced proportions, engraved surfaces, and the finely detailed pointed terminals that give the piece its distinctive silhouette. The intricate motifs are engraved on both sides, allowing the pendant to reveal its craftsmanship from every angle. While Tuareg crosses are associated with different regions and traditions, the Zinder design remains one of the most recognizable forms within this rich silversmithing heritage.
Weighing approximately 13 grams, each pendant is individually handcrafted, meaning no two pieces are exactly alike. Slight variations in the engravings and finish are a natural result of the handmade process and contribute to the authenticity and uniqueness of every pendant.
