Description
The Miao Ring with topaz and gold is our tribute to the Mountain Tribes from Southeast China and the regions of the Golden Triangle. This beautiful piece is inspired by the Multi-ring necklace, one of their most emblematic creations. Each ring comprising this piece is different, yet together they are iconic. The inside is fully engraved and meticulously crafted, making each one of our pieces completely special. Adorned with gold and selected topazes, this is one you won’t want to miss.
Multi-ring necklaces are one of the most emblematic creations of the Miao. These pieces are often hollow and decorated with traditional Chinese motifs such as dragons, phoenixes, animals, and plants. These neck rings are used in sets and may weigh anywhere from 500 to 2800 grams when worn together.
Languages, clothing, and jewelry vary greatly among the Mountain Tribes from southeast China and the region of the Golden Triangle (parts of Thailand, Burma, and Laos). One of the most significant aspects – regarding the variety of jewelry and its cultural significance – is seen among the Miao people. Their heritage consists of up to 50 different kinds of adornments. A complete set of jewelry worn on special occasions may weigh between 6 and 9 kg.
