The Barchakeia Double Pendant is handcrafted from solid 999 silver by skilled Tuareg artisans, using traditional silversmithing techniques passed down through generations. Beginning as a solid silver ingot, the silver is hammered, filed, and carefully shaped by hand before every decorative motif is individually engraved using simple traditional tools.
Measuring approximately 100 mm in height and weighing approximately 30grams, this pendant combines two iconic Tuareg cross designs in a single composition. The Barchakeia Cross forms the main body of the pendant, while a Miniature Agadez Cross is suspended below, adding depth, movement, and a beautifully balanced silhouette. A large handcrafted bail completes the design, naturally extending the vertical proportions of the piece.
The front of the pendant is carefully engraved by hand, showcasing the remarkable precision of Tuareg craftsmanship, while the reverse is left in smooth polished silver, offering two distinct looks in a single piece. Because every pendant is individually handcrafted, no two pieces are exactly alike. Slight variations in the engravings and finish are a natural part of the handmade process and reflect the authenticity of every creation.
