Inspiration: The Tuareg who once controlled the caravan trade routes across the Sahara, were traditionally a nomadic and pastoral ethnic. Probably of North African Berber origin, they have often received the name “Blue People of the Sahara”. Foreigners derived this name from the indigo turbans that stain the skin of the men who wear them. Organized in a hierarchical society, with nobility, artisans, and vassals, each Tuareg clan was made up of several family groups, led by its chief, the amghar. Up until today and despite their rustic techniques, lack of tools and an appropriate work place, the Tuareg smiths are experts in making beautiful engravings composed of tiny lines and delicate details. They are true masters in the art of shaping the metals.
